Lenham Meadows Trust

This is the first of a series of articles, providing a bit of background information about our three charities that we are delighted to be supporting in 2019.  

Lenham Meadows Trust was set up as a registered charity in 2017 to promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment of the parish of Lenham. The Trust aims to save and protect the open spaces and wildlife of Lenham for the enjoyment of both our own community and visitors to our village for years to come.

The trustees, who are all residents of Lenham are supported by a team of volunteers. They aim to prevent our open spaces from being lost by taking into the Trust’s management the open spaces and land available from future  development sites. The Trust aims to purchase or lease land when available to use as buffer zones to enhance and protect our ancient woodland, flora and fauna.

​You have probably seen the recent major works at Glebe Pond, which is the first land to come under the ownership of the Trust and which has now undergone a full renovation so it can be maintained as a great amenity for the village.
